BRIAN MOLLEY QUARTET

The focal point of Brian’s musical output since 2012 has been the Brian Molley Quartet. In spring 2013 the band recorded their debut album CLOCK [BGMM©], released to critical acclaim in October that year. The album was highlighted by Jazzwise Magazine as “one to watch 2014.” Brian’s compositions have attracted much acclaim, with BBC Radio 3 commenting. “a classy and well-crafted debut” BBC Radio 3. In 2014 the quartet made appearances at Glasgow and Manchester Jazz Festivals and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as part of the prestigious Creative Scotland curated ‘Made in Scotland’ programme.

MAARTEN VISSER DUO

Maarten Visser studied saxaphone at the Brabants Conservatorium (Netherlands). After completeing his studies in 1994 he moved to Chennai to study Carnatic music. In 2000, he started a collaboration with Indian choreographer Padmini Chettur, composing music for Segment of a Solo (2000), Fragility (2001), 3 Solos (2003), Paperdoll (2005), PUSHED (2006), Beautiful Thing 1 (2008), Beautiful Thing 2 (2011), and Walldancing (2012). In December 2012, Visser and poet Vivek Narayanan premiered a collaborative work for saxophone and words, and Maarten expanded this work into an oto.3 project, the music has been released in 2014. In 2016, he composed music for a play directed by Pravin Kannanur (Magic Lantern), for which he constructed various instruments, like tubulum and intonarumori. Visser is currently composing new work for saxophone solo - his second saxophones solo production, an experimental production with a visual artist, and music for the performance of a film project with Padmini Chettur, called Varnam.

THE SANAEA BUBBER JAZZ COLLECTIVE

Sanaea Bubber is a jazz and contemporary vocalist currently pursuing her diploma in Music Performance at the KM Conservatory of Music & Technology, along with advancing on stage performances where she has held the main stage for several events within the country. Having done shows in Mumbai, Pune Delhi and Punjab, she presents styles of jazz, contemporary, retro and classical genres of music while also covering pop, rock and dance. Her participation towards the Genesis Foundation NGO has been a notable contribution. Sanaea’s commitment towards the art form led her to finish her Bachelors and Masters in Literature and Mass Media respectively, and move on to pursue music and singing as a full time career. She intends to purse a double masters, this time in Jazz Performance with the oncoming year.
